CAT PEOPLE

Pop quiz, hot shot: cat person or dog person?

My friend Rodrigo has two cats (names withheld to protect their identities), and they both exist in a dimension other than our own. I cannot physically do anything to attract their attention. I've called their names, tried to pet them, looked at them, NOT looked at them, sat completely still, blown an airhorn... absolutely nothing makes them pay attention to me. But this weekend, when my girlfriend and I were over at his place for dinner, all she did was coo and put her hand out. And those cats stopped peering into the infinite abyss, actually gave a shit and payed attention to her.

Like I said: cat person or dog person?

I know what I am (dog person). I know what my girlfriend is (cat person). I know what Time Cheetah is (Cat Person). And I know what David Bowie was (Cat People). What are you?

Anyway, read today's newest page. Makes more sense than this!

So Long Comic Con, Hello Comic Con!

Comic Con San Diego is over. DC and Marvel are still at war, reboots abound, and geekdom is safe for another winter. It has also learned of the many wonders of Time Cheetah, the hottest new webcomic on the internet, thanks to our amazing business card spamming abilities.

But enough networking, time to relax. Wonder what's happening in Tijuana this weekend?

Oh, Tijuana Comic Con, THE place to find out about the comic book scene in Baja California. It's sure to be a great place to network.

...Oh well. Once more, into the breach. Enjoy the new page!

Comic Con Postscript

San Diego Comic Con has finally left our fair city, scattering to the wind like a plague of locusts, not to return until next year's harvest! When I wasn't working at the IDW Publishing booth (Come visit us at booth #... oh), I managed to snag a few cool things:

–Bought a few prints from Kris Kehasukjaren, who draws some wonderful images! I bought the DBZ, Studio Ghibli, and Smash Bros. prints, but would have gotten a few more if I had more money to spend. Check out his stuff at https://www.etsy.com/shop/minionmeshop!

Boys Club by Matt Furie. Some truly ridiculous stoner humor. Lots of gross stuff, but I couldn't stop laughing. I'm a simple man with simple tastes.

Hip Hop Family Tree vol. 4 by Ed Piskor. The three previous volumes have all been fantastic, and Ed Piskor is keeping up the quality. Can't wait to dig in!

I also managed to go to a single panel, the Samurai Jack panel where they showed some new footage for the upcoming Adult Swim show. All I can say is... I owe a lot of my creative career—past, present, and future—to Genndy Tartakovsky and the Sam Jack crew. Beautiful, beautiful stuff.

You know what else is almost as good as all these things? Time Cheetah! Check out today's new page, it has one of my favorite jokes. (Hint: it involves the word FUCK)

Boy do I LOVE Comic Con!

Comic Con just started last night, and the world of pop culture holds it's breath! Unlike my labor-slave brother, who toils down in the comic mines, the Con is just a grand old time for me. Hooray for temporary unemployment!

While much is made of the great reveals that happen at Comic Con, I also find it to be a great way to check the pulse of the geek/nerd community. What's up with the kids these days?

1. The Convention was COVERED in Pokemon Go lures. The stench of them filled every corner. Every crevice. Every thought.

2. I'm seeing a lot more parent/child groups. While Sunday, Kids Day, has always had a lot of children, seeing so many since even Preview Night (which you can only enter by buying a 4 day ticket, AND an additional cost) implies that love of geek/nerd culture is being passed down to kids by their own parents. It's pretty magical, actually.

3. Time Cheetah is, by far, the hottest new webcomic out there. The Con is CRAZY for Time Cheetah. Take my word for it.

That's it for today, enjoy another new page of Time Cheetah. I'm off to wait in line wearing a magnificent Furiosa cosplay. Bye!
